Agvan G. Hovsepyan

Agvan G. Hovsepyan was born in 1953’ January 7, in Yerevan. He got his higher education at the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University, which he graduated from in 1974.
He masters Armenian, Russian and English.

His professional experience started from 1974, working as an investigator in Segeja Region of Karelian Autonomic Republic.

1978-1986 - Prosecutor's office of Mountainous Kharabakh, Senior Investigator; Assistant to Prosecutor; Head of the Investigation Division; Assistant to the Prosecutor of Martakert District.

1986-1989 Investigator, Artik District's Prosecutor's Office

1989-1998 Investigator on Especially Important Cases attached to the RA Prosecutor General

March 7’ 2004  By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia appointed as the RA Prosecutor General

The Prosecutor General implements the governing  of the Prosecution office of RA, the organization and leading of activities of the Board of Prosecution office, the supervision over the activities of the Logistical Supervision, Statistics, and Analysis Department of the Prosecution office of RA,   Human Resource Division,  press-secretary’s activities,  the procedural  control and supervision of the cases investigating by the Special Investigatory Service of RA, the organization and supervision of activities of senior prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's office, the organization of the activities of the scientific-methodical counsel, leading of the Staff.

For the outstanding contribution to the protection of legality, law and order, A. G.Hovsepyan was awarded by the medal "For services to Fatherland" of the First Class.

By the Decree of the President of RA after 04.05.08, the Prosecutor General is included in a National Security Council.
