The archive is created together with the NGO “Xenophobia Prevention Initiative”. The archive is supposed to be completed and placed in the Internet in a period of two or three months.
“The “Xenophobia Prevention Initiative”, NGO presented a written application to the RA General Prosecutor with the request to get acquainted with the materials of the criminal cases and make records. Taking into consideration the fact that these cases are already historical events and the interest of the society is wide, it was decided to create an electronic archive of the testimonies of the criminal cases on the ferocity and mass violence, which might be of interest for the historians, as well as for the politicians and for the wide circles of society, in order that everybody could perceive and estimate these historical events,” - said the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor.
The spokesperson also informed that the materials are not fully preserved in the RA General Prosecutor’s Office, as separate criminal cases were sent to both Azerbaijan and Russia, where several persons having committed murders and participated in the ferocity were sentenced to different measures of punishment, even to death.
