Relations of the RA Prosecutor's Office with the Prosecutor's  Offices of the foreign countries, as well as with the International Organizations, according to the article 46 of the RA Law “On Prosecutor's  Office”, are regulated by the Treaties of the Republic of Armenia.

Such issues like straightening of international legal relations and cooperation with foreign country prosecution offices on struggle against crime have their special role in the actions of the RA Prosecutor's  Office.

The RA Prosecution Office is a Member to the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS State Parties from the date of its foundation - January’ 1993. Since 1999 it is a full Member to International Association of Prosecutors and to the Annual Conference of Prosecutors General of Europe.

Moreover, the RA Prosecutor's  Office actively participates in various international conferences, seminars, and tries to establish the cooperation with prosecutorial institutions of neighbor and other countries, through signing bilateral Agreements on Mutual Legal Cooperation.

  • In October’ 1998 the RA Prosecutor's  Office and USA Agency on International Development came to the agreement to organize a trainings for a group of the RA Prosecutor's  Office’s employees in the US and Netherlands;
  • In October’ 1999, in Yervan, the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance and Cooperation was signed between Prosecution Offices of the Armenian and Slovak Republic;
  • In June’ 2001 the ex-Prosecutor General of the RA - Mr. Aram Tamazyan and ex-Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in the RA - Mr. Michel Lemon signed the Letter-Agreement on Drug Control and Law Enforcement Assistance, providing Armenia with the technical support by US Government in the mentioned field. The Agreement was renewed in 2003, 2004 and 2005 by additional Protocols.
  • In June’ 2003 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, the Conference of Prosecutors General of the State Parties to the Council of Europe took place. The delegation of the RA Prosecution Office, headed by the RA Prosecutor General, also took part in it;
  • On July 21’ 2005 in Tbilisi, Georgia, was signed the Memorandum on Legal Assistance and Cooperation Between the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia;
  • On August 8’ 2005, in Yerevan, was signed the Memorandum on Legal Assistance and Cooperation Between the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Latvian Republic;
  • On October 6’ 2005 in Minsk, Belarus, Prosecutors General of the Republics of Armenia and Belarus signed the Memorandum on Strengthening of Understanding and Legal Cooperation between Armenia and Belarus;
  • From November 5 to 11’ 2005, according to the invitation of Bavaria’s Ministry of Justice, the delegation of the RA Prosecutor's  Office, headed by the RA Prosecutor General Mr.Aghvan Hovsepyan, visited Munich. The mission was to develop further cooperation in the field of provision with the legal assistance;
  • From 14 to 16 the Delegation of the General Prosecutor’s office headed by the General Prosecutor Mr.Aghvan Hovsepyan, took part in the Second World Summit of Attorneys General, Prosecutors General and Chief Prosecutors in Doha, Qatar;
  • On November 24, 2005 the Delegation of the General Prosecutor’s office headed by the Deputy-General Prosecutor Mr.Mnatsakan Sargsyan, took part in the Plenary Session of the Coordinating Council of the CIS state-countries in Moscow, Russian Federation
  • On April 21' 2006 U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans and Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan signed the Protocol on forth Amendment to the Letter of Agreement on Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Armenia.
  • On June 20'2007 Charje d'Affaires a.i. Anthony Godfrey and Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan signed the Protokol 5 to the Letter of Agreement on Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement between the Government  of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
  • On July 06' 2007 in Yerevan, was signed the Memorandum between the General Prosecutor's Office of the Hungary and the General prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armennia on  Cooperation.
  • October 9-10, 2007, the Coordinating Council session of the Prosecutor-Generals of CIS took place in Yerevan, during which the RA General Prosecutor A. Hovsepyan had a report on the issues of cooperation among the General Prosecutor’s Offices of CIS states in the struggle against trafficking.
  • On November 21-24, 2007 the delegation headed by the RA General Prosecutor A. Hovsepyan participated in the Second Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities in Bali, Indonesia. The representatives of 89 Member States of the United Nations and 11 international organizations participating in the conference signed a declaration.
  • The delegation headed by the RA General Prosecutor A. Hovsepyan participated in the Regional Conference of Prosecutors of Eastern Europe and Central Asia on the theme “The Prosecutor and the Human Rights” on November 10-11, in Lvov. During the visit on November 13, 2008 the Prosecutor-Generals of Armenia and the Ukraine signed an agreement of cooperation which regulates the mechanisms of legal assistance identifying new ways and possibilities of cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of both countries.
  • On February 13, 2009 the General Prosecutor of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan and the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika signed in Yerevan a memorandum on the main directions of cooperation in 2009-2011 between the General Prosecutor’s Offices of Armenia and the Russian Federation.
  • On May 18, 2009 the General Prosecutor of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan and the General Prosecutor of the Czech Republic Renáta Vesecká signed a memorandum of cooperation in Yerevan during the working visit of the Czech delegation to Armenia.
  • On September 16, 2009 U.S. Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch and the RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan signed two Protocols on the amendment to the Letter of Agreement on Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Armenia. Pursuant to the ninth and tenth amendments to the Letter of Agreement the U.S. Government will provide additional assistance to the Government of Armenia in the amount of $2,286,050 for several assistance programs.
  • On September 13, 2010 the deputy of the RA General Prosecutor Mnatsakan Sargsyan and the deputy of the General Prosecutor of Romania Gabriela Scutea signed a memorandum of cooperation between the General Prosecutor’s Offices of Armenia and the General Prosecutor’s Offices of Romania attached to the Court of Appeal in Bucharest.
  • On September 15, 2010 the RA General Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan and the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika signed the program of cooperation during 2010-2011 between the General Prosecutor’s Offices of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in Moscow.

  • The 5th Plenary Meeting of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors took place in Yerevan from 19 to 21 October. Within the three working days Yerevan Declaration on the role of public prosecution in juvenile justice was adopted.
