Dear Guests and Colleagues,

I want to thank you for accepting our suggestion to hold the 5th Plenary Meeting of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors in Yerevan and welcome you to Armenia.

Dear Colleagues,

I am very delighted to welcome you to Armenia and I am confident that these direct and personal contacts will contribute to our cooperation and will strengthen and improve the cooperation among the law enforcement and justice bodies of our countries.

The multilateral cooperation in the framework of the European Council is one of the most important directions in the foreign policy of our country. It includes our countries’ numerous spheres of activity and the cooperation among the law enforcement bodies including the General Prosecutor’s Offices is especially important.

The 21st century, of course, creates opportunities for millions of people on our planet, that in its completeness has become the native country of all of us and each of us which is a great value and responsibility for the humanity (I want to stress the word “responsibility”), responsibility for our planet and for the future generations who are the newborns, teen-agers and juveniles of today and will become the future citizens of our planet tomorrow and owing to them we must have the country of our dreams and our united native country.

Dear Colleagues,

The cooperation in the framework of the European Council is the guarantee for the effective struggle against the criminality. It ensures the comprehensive integration of our republics in the world process. We consider this cooperation as a necessary condition for the improvement of the work of the bodies of the General Prosecutor’s Office in order to secure the safety and the legal protection of our citizens.

The Republic of Armenia seeks to create a stable developing society which is the pledge of peace and prosperity.

I want to thank you again for accepting our invitation. I am confident that our work will be effective and the documents adopted during the Consultative Council will contribute to the development of cooperation and mutual understanding in the framework of the European Council.
